Russia has stated its desire to engage in more productive energy conversations with Pakistan.

Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov underlined the importance of establishing a working group to create and implement a comprehensive strategy for Pakistan’s gas industry development.

The minister explained Russia’s objectives to Pakistan’s outgoing envoy Shafqat Ali Khan at a working meeting to mark his departure from Moscow and the end of his diplomatic service.

According to diplomatic communication, the head of the Energy Ministry praised Khan for beneficial collaboration in the energy sector, as well as for work done within the framework of the Pakistan-Russian intergovernmental committee, which Shulginov himself co-chaired.

“Over the years of our collaboration, much has been accomplished, thanks in part to your deep understanding of the nuances of Pakistani-Russian cooperation.” “We look forward to a fruitful energy dialogue between Pakistan and Russia,” stated the Russian minister.

Khan, too, acknowledged that relations between the two countries have been improving for many years, notably in energy matters, and voiced optimism about future energy cooperation.

The two sides also talked about important aspects of their ongoing bilateral energy cooperation. The minister, in particular, stated that it is critical to expedite the formation of a working group to prepare and implement a comprehensive plan for the development of Pakistan’s gas industry.

Shulginov emphasised that Russia is interested in holding multilateral conversations with the Pakistani side to resolve issues concerning the international transport corridor.
