Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Ankara on Saturday on a two-day official visit to Turkiye to attend Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s inauguration.
The prime minister was greeted at Ankara Airport by senior Turkish foreign ministry officials and Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkey.
The premier is in Turkiye at the request of Turkish President Erdogan, who won the second round of elections on May 28.
PM Shehbaz Sharif is supported by a group that includes Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will also meet with Turkish investors and business leaders.
Taking to Twitter today, the prime minister expressed his congratulations to Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his re-election on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan.
He stated that Pakistan-Turkey relations are going to strengthen further as a result of our shared resolve and destiny.
Shehbaz Sharif said the upcoming 7th Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad will provide the right avenue to take the momentum of our strategic partnership forward.
“We have yet to unlock the potential of our multifaceted relationship and efforts are being made in that direction,” he added.
