Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will arrive in Quetta today for a one-day visit.

Both officials will attend the closing ceremony of the 34th National Games, which began on May 22 in Quetta, the provincial capital.

In addition to participating in the closing ceremony, the premier will engage in key political activities during his visit to Quetta.

He is set to meet with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and other political heavyweights.

During the launching ceremony of the 34th National Games on May 22, PM Shehbaz stated that the law will take its course and that the culprits of the May 9 destruction and burning of private and public property would be brought to justice.

Shehbaz recalled the turmoil, saying May 9 was a heartbreaking day since the Quaid-e-Azam’s residence was attacked, charred, and demolished.

“This can’t be a Pakistani mentality.” “Those who attacked the Radio Pakistan building in Peshawar and the GHQ in Rawalpindi were not Pakistanis,” the Prime Minister asserted.

He went on to say that the enemy could not do what was done on May 9 in 75 years. Appropriate precautions will have to be taken in the future to avoid such events, he stressed.

Shehbaz declared May 9 to be a “black day,” saying those who disrespected sacrifices and fighters would not be allowed at any cost. He stated that the Pakistan Army and its families made tremendous sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

He vowed to eradicate terrorism and declared Balochistan and Quetta a safe haven following a wave of terrorism in the region.
