Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is likely to end the Jail Bharo Tehreek after the supreme court’s decision to hold Punjab and KP elections in 90 days.

According to sources, the PTI leaders have been asked to appear for arrest at the Prison Bharo Tehreek.

Ijaz Chaudhary, the leader of the Prison Bharo Tehreek, announced that although there will be a demonstration and a public gathering today, party members and leaders will not come forward for arrest.

Today’s evening decision about the Jail Bharo Movement will be made after assessing the present political environment.

Sources within PTI said that the party will announce the next plan after consultation with the PTI chairman Imran Khan.

SC orders to hold elections in Punjab, KP in 90 days

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was ordered by the Pakistani Supreme Court (SC) to hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within 90 days.

The short decision concluded that the Pakistani Election Commission failed to effectively carry out its duties during the election. While the president is allowed by law and the constitution to set the election date in Punjab, it is the duty of the provincial governor to announce the election date in KP.
