Ahsan Iqbal, the federal minister for planning, development, and special initiatives has announced the decision of the government to award 20,000 scholarships to unemployed graduates of the nation.

While speaking at an international meeting on higher education and workforce development in Islamabad, he made the announcement.

He added that the federal government was committed to giving the impoverished class access to education, saying “The govt has decided to grant 20000 scholarships to unemployed graduates.”

In addition, according to Ahsan Iqbal, scholarships would be given to students from remote regions of the nation as part of the Youth Development Initiatives (YDI), a program that was recently introduced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Donald Blome, the US ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Keith Grover, the chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and other dignitaries were present at the summit.

For the academic year 2023–2024, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) previously offered fully financed scholarships for study abroad in China.

The deadline to apply for scholarships at Chinese institutions is December 15, 2022, according to the Higher Education Commission.

Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistani students are invited to apply to study and do research in a variety of subjects at the top universities in China.

The deadline to submit an online application on the HEC portal www.scholarship.hec.gov.pk under learning opportunities abroad is Thursday, 15th December 2022.
