The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) march was funded by a total of Rs256.3 million by the Interior Ministry, but it was cut short before it reached the federal capital.

The federal government had set up Rs390 million for the capital territory’s security in advance of the PTI’s long march, according to the specifics. On November 26, the PTI Chief announced the organization’s intention to resign from all assemblies, putting a halt to the march in Rawalpindi.

Out of the total budgeted amount, the Interior Ministry spent Rs256.3 million. The money was used to buy tear gas shells, accommodate the forces, and place containers around the city’s entry points.

To stop the PTI long march, a total of 13,800 security forces, including Sindh police, FC, and Rangers, were stationed in the capital region. 2442 shells in all were also employed by the forces.

It should be mentioned that the Sindh government had requested that the LG elections in the Hyderabad and Karachi divisions be postponed due to a lack of security personnel.

Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, announced earlier on Saturday that his party would leave all of the assemblies, ending the PTI long march.

“We will not be part of this country’s political system. We have decided to quit all assemblies,” the former premier said while addressing the party workers and supporters at Rawalpindi Jalsa.
