Six military personnel died in a helicopter crash in Balochistan, including two Pakistani Army majors, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The unfortunate occurrence happened late last night during a flying mission close to Khost city’s Harnai neighbourhood, according to a statement from the military’s media wing.

According to the news release, two pilots were also among the six individuals that died.

Attock resident Major Khurram Shahzad, 39, is survived by his wife and daughter. The 30-year-old Rawalpindi native Major Muhammad Muneeb Afzal is survived by his wife and two boys.

While sepoy Muhammad Imran, 27, was a native of Khanewal’s Makhdoompur and is survived by a wife and three children, subedar Abdul Wahid, 44, was from Karak’s Sabir Abad village and has left behind a wife and four children.

The 30-year-old Naik Jalil came from the Gujarati village of Bhutta. He left a wife and two kids behind. The 35-year-old Sepoy Shoaib lived in the Khatarphatti hamlet in Attock. He leaves behind a wife and child.

Last chopper crash

The same number of military personnel were killed when a Pakistan Army chopper crashed in August after going missing for a day.

The helicopter was discovered at Lasbela, Musa Goth, and Windar.

Around 5:30 p.m., it had disappeared while travelling from Quetta to Karachi. The individuals in the helicopter were in charge of managing the flood relief operations in the southwest of the nation.

More than 1,600 people have already died as a result of above-average monsoon rains and devastating flooding that have devastated Pakistan this year, especially in Balochistan and Sindh.

According to an early investigation, the ISPR stated in a statement that the mishap happened as a result of “poor weather.”
