Global forums announce over $500m aid for flood relief Programs

International groups have announced to provide more than $500 million to Pakistan’s relief and rescue efforts in the light of the nation’s devastating floods.

The forums were appreciated by the prime minister for helping Pakistan through this difficult period. Despite tough financial conditions, the government is nevertheless carrying out flood relief activities, he continued.

The PM also presided over a meeting of the economic affairs division where the topic of aid for flood victims was discussed. The workshop was attended by representatives of the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UN, WHO, and other international organizations.

The PM was notified by the World Bank’s national coordinator about a $350 million aid package for flood relief efforts, of which $50 million will be released by the end of the week. World Food Program has stated that it will provide $110 million for rescue and relief efforts.

ADB, the Asian Development Bank, announced a $20 million aid package, while UK Aid will provide $1.7 million. Additional funding of 38 million pounds for both immediate and long-term initiatives in the nation has been announced by UK Aid.

The Prime Minister thanked representatives of the forums for helping Pakistan in the hour of need. The government is carrying out uninterrupted relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas of the country.
