A railway bridge built by the British in Bolan Balochistan during the 1880s collapsed, after heavy rainfall. Due to the collapse of the ancient bridge, the train service is suspended, disconnecting Balochistan from the other parts of the country.
According to an officer of Pakistan Railways, Muhammad Izhar ul Haq, “Train service has been suspended after the collapse of the ancient bridge”. Floods and heavy rainfall have continued to cause immense damage across Balochistan.
Furthermore, Mr. Haq stated that “Train service can resume after the reconstruction of the ancient bridge”. After the collapse of the bridge, the connection between Quetta and Jacobabad is compromised, causing all passenger trains to stop operations.
The location of the bridge is between Kolpur at Hirak and Mach in the Bolan Valley.
