Pakistan and China have a long-standing relationship, and their militaries have been working together for many years. The two sides have now met in Beijing to discuss the international and regional security situation, as well as defence cooperation between the two countries.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, while the Chinese delegation was headed by General Wei Fenghe, State Councillor and Minister of National Defence.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a range of issues, including the security situation in the region and the world, as well as defence.
A senior-level tri-service military delegation from Pakistan visited China from 9 to 12 June and held discussions with senior officials from the Chinese military and other government departments, according to the ISPR.
An apex meeting was held on 12 June, where the Pakistani side, headed by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, met the Chinese side, led by Vice ChairmanCentral Military Commission of China General Zhang Youxia.
Both sides discussed their perspectives on the international and regional security situation, expressing satisfaction on defence cooperation between the two countries.
The two countries reaffirmed their strategic partnership and agreed to continue exchanging perspectives on issues of mutual interest. They also vowed to enhance their training, technology, and counterterrorism cooperation at the tri-service level.
