Pakistan Army has been actively working for the safety of our lands and borders, their sacrifices have been immense. Since the very start, the Pakistan Army has been safeguarding our lands with their lives. Air Superiority by Pakistan Air Force and maritime territorial integrity of Pakistan is kept safe within the hands of the Pakistan Navy. Recently, 6 Pakistan Army personnel embraced martyrdom in North Waziristan, while protecting us.

However, the Pakistan Army is the line of defense on the ground has seen been the most sacrificial wing of the defense. After, Operation Zarb-e-Azb and other Military actions, the terrorists were thrown back by the professionals of the Pakistan Army. Moreover, some frequent skirmishes between the Terror groups and the Pakistan Army are seen.

Recently, a terrorist IED attack on the convoy of Pakistan Army Personnel took place near Razmak, North Waziristan. Resulting in the martyrdom of 5 soldiers along with an officer. A total of 6 Pakistan Army Personnel embraced Shahadat while protecting our lands from threats.

Those embraced shahadat include :-

  • Capt Umar Farooq, age 24 years
  • Naib Subedar Riaz Ahmed, age 37 years
  • Naib Subedar Shakeel Azad, age 44 years
  • Havaldar Younas Khan, age 36 years
  • Naik Muhammad Nadeem, age 37 years

Apart from this cowardly attack, another attack was initiated by the terror groups claiming plenty of lives of the security personnel, taking the tally to around 20 people including the six people of the Pakistan Army.

6 Army Personnel Embraced Martydom

Parliamentary Response on Shaheed Personnel

Prime Minister Imran Khan, promptly sent his condolences and prayers to the families of the Shaheed through his Twitter account, making sure to mention the other cowardly attack that tallied the number of martyrs to 20.

My deepest condolences & prayers for the 20 security personnel, including 6 army men, martyred in 2 cowardly acts of terrorism yesterday. The entire nation stands behind all our security forces as they continue to lay down their lives for the safety & security of Pakistan.

— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) October 16, 2020

However, the opposition parties in the parliament were reluctant on talking about the Army Men who embraced martyrdom for their country, the same country these politicians and live. Being a national and patriot, the opposition should have accounted for the incident and talked about it as the people who have laid down their lives for this country are our brothers who sacrifice their lives for the well-being of our present and future.

Opposition Parties and their Leadership was found hesitant on discussing this matter and perhaps politicizing the event due to their lack of vision, patriotism and leadership. All the leaders apart from their parties should have supported the Pakistan Army and sent condolences to the families of the martyrs.

The Chief of Army Staff – General Qamar Jawed Bajwa recently quoted;

“Sacrifices rendered by our officers and men shall never go waste. our fight against terrorism shall continue till achievement of enduring peace and stability”
