Ziarat Pir Hassan Shah Island to Become Eco-Tourism Destination, Says Minister

The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, announced on Wednesday a plan to transform Ziarat Pir Hassan Shah Island, located near Karachi, into a center for eco-tourism.
Eco-Friendly Tourism Project
The minister detailed that the initiative will introduce a comprehensive eco-friendly tourism project combining sports and lifestyle activities on the island off Karachi’s coast. This development aims to attract significant investment and promote sustainable tourism.
Investment and Infrastructure
Junaid Anwar Chaudhry stated that the project will involve an investment exceeding one billion rupees. To improve accessibility, the island will be connected to Karachi’s District East via a new road, facilitating easier travel for visitors and locals alike.

The improved access is expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate the local economy. The minister emphasized that environmental protection measures will be integral to the development plan, ensuring the coastal ecosystem remains safeguarded.
