Pakistani actor Usman Mukhtar has shared the emotional reason behind his decision to limit his acting projects to Islamabad, revealing that he stays close to home to care for his mother, who suffers from dementia.
During a recent Instagram Q&A session, a fan asked why the actor avoids working in other cities like Karachi and Lahore, which are major hubs for the entertainment industry. Mukhtar responded candidly, saying,
“Because my mother lives here, and she has dementia. She’s bedridden and needs constant supervision. Since dramas often take several months to shoot, I don’t think it’s wise for me to be away from her for that long.”
Mukhtar, known for his powerful performances in dramas such as Sabaat and Anaa, has long been praised for his thoughtful and grounded personality. Despite lucrative offers from top production houses, he continues to prioritize his mother’s well-being over professional opportunities.
On social media, Mukhtar often shares heartfelt posts dedicated to his mother, especially on occasions like Mother’s Day, Eid, and her birthday. Fans frequently express their admiration for his devotion, calling him an inspiration for balancing fame with family values.
His candid revelation has sparked conversations about caregiving, dementia awareness, and the emotional sacrifices many families make when caring for loved ones with chronic illnesses.
While many fans hope to see him more often on screen, Mukhtar’s commitment to family and compassion have only deepened the public’s respect for him, highlighting the human side of one of Pakistan’s most admired actors.
