TikTok and ed-tech firm Edkasa are collaborating with the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) to expand the #ExamReady scholarship scheme to over 10,000 deserving students across the province, with the goal of digitising learning processes and improving learning results.

TikTok, Edkasa, and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) will launch #ExamReady, a first-of-its-kind STEM-focused digital learning programme for high school students, in early 2022, according to a statement from the social media platform.

It went on to say that earlier this year, the #ExamReady scholarship scheme was established, with 18,000 meritorious students from throughout Pakistan receiving online study grants.

“The collaboration with Sindh Education Foundation will help promote quality education in Sindh’s disadvantaged areas.” Sindh post-primary students in grades IX to XII would be eligible for the scholarships.

Over 500 educational videos spanning Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics were made available online as part of the #ExamReady programme, which was created to assist millions of Pakistani students.

These included study techniques and exam shortcuts. The instructive films quickly proved a hit with Pakistani students on TikTok, getting over 558 million views and about 114,000 video creations since their debut.

“We believe that education is a fundamental right,” said Zara Basharat Higgs, Manager of Public Policy Programmes and Partnerships for South Asia and Pakistan. “We believe that technology has an integral role to play in improving access and outcomes for students.”
