Before unveiling the Punjab budget, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called a key meeting at his Model Town mansion in Lahore on Monday, Sources.
Mohsin Naqvi, the Chief Secretary of Punjab and interim Chief Minister of Punjab, and the secretaries of several departments arrived at the PM’s house in Model Town.
According to sources, the finance secretary and other concerned officials will likely attend the meeting, and the finance secretary will inform the PM of the budget.
Furthermore, the caretaker CM is expected to release the Punjab budget in the coming week.
Previously, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) administration raised taxes on a variety of consumer goods, including automobiles, dairy products, and branded clothes, in its federal budget.
According to the facts, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar proposed a budget of Rs. 144.60 Trillion in the National Assembly for the fiscal year 2023-24, boosting sales taxes by 12 to 18% in various industries.
