In the midst of an economic crisis, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) administration has spent billions of dollars on television commercials, According to Ary News.

According to facts, the secretary of information addressed the Senate Standing Committee on the amount spent by the 13-party coalition during its 16-month reign.

During the PDM coalition government’s mandate, Rs 10 billion was spent on media advertisements. The secretary informed the Senate Committee that the advertisement cost Rs 9.60 billion.

The previous government allocated Rs 3.50 billion for print media advertising, Rs 4.79 billion for electronic media advertising, and Rs 1.23 billion for digital media advertising.

Furthermore, the Senate Committee requested information on advertising rates for all networks.

The federal government approved the distribution of funding for lawmakers’ schemes on April 14.

Until March 2023, the PDM coalition government spent Rs 50 billion on legislative programmes. The money for parliamentary programmes was authorised, with Rs 90 billion set aside for them in fiscal year 2022-23.

The govt also paid Rs 500 million to National Assembly members who voted in favour of the no-confidence motion.
