The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) announced on Thursday that approximately 3,000 people had benefitted from a knowledge portal set up last year to help businesses in the two nations and that it was now planning to launch an online technology gateway.

The chamber was founded in 2013 to encourage investment and trade between Pakistan and China while also protecting the interests of businesses in both nations.

“On October 7, 2021, the PCJCCI launched the first-ever knowledge portal, and approximately 3,000 individuals have benefitted so far,” the chamber’s president Wang Zihai.

The knowledge portal features information on initiatives and economic cooperation between the two nations, as well as registration and immigration information for businesses.

According to Zihai, a Pak-China technological gateway would be constructed after the portal’s “success.”

The gateway, according to Ehsan Chaudhry, the chamber’s senior vice president, would transfer technology no longer in use in China to Pakistan, where it will be employed for the South Asian country’s industrial needs.

“Pakistan may import traditional machinery from China at a reasonable cost since our labors are much more comfortable with low-key new technology,” he said, without specifying when the technological gateway would go operational.

The chamber’s secretary-general, Salahuddin Hanif, said the joint Pakistan-China organization has started several Chinese language courses to bridge the communication gap between the two countries.

He told Arab News that “about 25,000 students actively engaged in these courses.” “We’ve also compiled and published many books to make the learning process for Pakistanis more comprehensive.”

Hanif stated that the chamber was working to encourage Chinese industrialists to partner with Pakistan and that additional courses on the information site will be released soon.

“We’ll be launching numerous courses very soon to convey current knowledge and information relating to many industries,” Hanif stated, “such as electronic and automotive advancement, insurance, agriculture, textiles, shoe manufacturing, chemicals, battery recycling plant, and real estate advise.”
