Abhi, a Pakistani fintech specializing in innovative finance solutions for businesses and their employees, has been recognized as one of the Future 100 companies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Future100 initiative, launched by the UAE’s economy ministry in collaboration with the minister of state for government development and future, highlights the top 100 startups contributing to the nation’s future readiness and economic competitiveness.

Operating in the UAE since 2022, Abhi provides salaried employees with the ability to access a percentage of their accrued salary before the next payroll through the startup’s mobile app or via SMS. In September 2023, Abhi partnered with Visa Inc. and YellowPepper to introduce account-to-account payments in the UAE.

Omair Ansari, Abhi co-founder, and CEO expressed their honor at being selected as a Future 100 company in the UAE, emphasizing the company’s commitment to promoting financial wellness in the region. The Future 100 Awards ceremony, attended by key UAE officials, acknowledged Abhi’s role in providing instant credit access through its embedded finance platform.

Abhi, licensed by both Abu Dhabi General Market and Dubai International Financial Center, partners with over 450 companies and aims to drive economic growth by offering financial empowerment to businesses and individuals. In 2023, Abhi became the first fintech enterprise in the MENAP region to be recognized as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

The recognition comes at a time when Pakistani startups have gained global attention, raising approximately $375 million in 2021. In 2023, Pakistani startups secured $34 million in funding during the first nine months of the year, reflecting a notable presence on the global funding radar.
