Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are moving toward a new phase of effective economic cooperation, driven by growing investor confidence and expanding private-sector engagement.
The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of UAE business leaders, where discussions focused on strengthening trade, investment, and collaboration in emerging economic sectors.
Expanding Investment and Business Cooperation
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to economic growth, the prime minister welcomed the increasing interest of UAE investors in Pakistan’s market. He emphasized opportunities in areas such as information technology, digital innovation, and business-to-business partnerships, noting that these sectors offer strong potential for mutual benefit.
According to the prime minister, recent high-level engagements between the two countries have helped build trust and created a favorable environment for deeper economic ties. He added that stronger cooperation between private sectors would further accelerate bilateral trade and investment.
Impact of High-Level Engagements
The prime minister also pointed to recent diplomatic interactions as a key factor in improving economic relations. He said that such engagements have reinforced the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and the UAE and laid the groundwork for long-term collaboration in development-oriented projects.
He described the Pakistan–UAE relationship as one based on shared values, mutual respect, and a common vision for economic progress.
Strategic Partnership for Growth
Emphasizing the strategic nature of bilateral ties, the prime minister said Pakistan’s skilled workforce and expanding market complement the UAE’s global investment reach and financial expertise. This combination, he noted, positions both countries well to benefit from joint ventures and sustainable economic initiatives.
Members of the UAE delegation expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential and reaffirmed their commitment to exploring investment opportunities across multiple sectors.
Looking Ahead
Pakistan and the UAE have long enjoyed close diplomatic and economic relations. With renewed focus on trade, investment, and innovation, both countries appear set to deepen their partnership and unlock new avenues for economic cooperation.
As discussions continue and business linkages strengthen, Pakistan–UAE ties are expected to evolve into a more dynamic and results-oriented economic relationship, supporting long-term growth and development for both nations.
