Pakistan-Turkish series Salahuddin Ayubi to be released soon

Actor and producer Humayun Saeed shared an update on the upcoming collaboration between Pakistan and Turkey for the TV series Salahuddin Ayubi which is based on the life of the great Muslim warrior.

Who is Sultan Salahuddin al-Ayubi?

Sultan Salahuddin al-Ayubi was a great Muslim warrior and ruler of Egypt and Syria. He is best known for recapturing Jerusalem from the Crusaders in 1187. Salahuddin was born in 1137 in the northern Iraqi city of Tikrit.

Salahuddin Ayubi to be released very soon says actor Humayun Saaed.

Last year, actors-turned-producers, Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed announced a collaboration with their Turkish counterparts.

Furthermore, a Pakistani actor shared a video behind the scenes. The video showed the pre-production process as the team goes on to visit the site. Construction work is underway for the set.

The video captured different areas on the site such as the staff kitchen, carpentry shed guest house, and staff house.

The set will be opened at the end of July but the date will be announced at the end of this week.

“So glad to share that our team and producers, Dr. Junaid Shah and Dr. Kashif Ansari, are working extremely hard and efficiently to bring Pakistan’s biggest ever collaboration with Turkey — Salahuddin Ayubi — to life,” he captioned the post. “As you can see, pre-production work is being done very professionally and at a fast pace so Insha Allah you will be seeing this series on your screens very soon. Proud to be associated with this project!”

Pakistan’s Ansari and Shah Films and Turkey’s Akli Films have signed a contract to jointly produce a TV series on the Muslim general.

In the initial round of auditions held in Lahore and Karachi, Ushna Shah, Adnan Jilani, Farhan Agha, and Ayesha Omar were chosen.

For the Islamic series among 6000 professional and budding actors only 62 were chosen. The series which will be screened simultaneously in Pakistan and Turkey.

Konuk hopes that the international joint project is beneficial “to our country and our art world.” The series will feature actors from Pakistan and Turkey and is planned to have three seasons.
