Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment to accelerate the implementation of a $5 billion investment package during an official meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Held at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on April 7, 2024, the leaders discussed strengthening trade and investment ties, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s supportive role in Pakistan’s economy.

They also exchanged views on regional and global developments, expressing concern over the situation in Gaza and calling for international efforts to halt hostilities, provide humanitarian aid, and advance the peace process. Both leaders stressed the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve outstanding issues, particularly the Kashmir dispute, for regional peace and stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz extended an invitation to the Crown Prince to visit Pakistan, which was accepted. During his visit, the Prime Minister also performed Umrah and offered prayers for the country’s development, prosperity, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah. The delegation included key ministers and officials, along with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and his son Hamza Shehbaz.
