In a move aimed at significantly bolstering employment prospects for Pakistani workers in Qatar, the governments of Pakistan and Qatar have inked several agreements and Letters of Intent (LOIs) with leading Qatari companies.

According to an official source, the signing of these agreements with esteemed Qatari firms such as Qatari Diyar-Saudi Bin Laden Group Construction (QD-SBG), Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting Company W.L.L (HBK), Ali Bin Ali Holding W.L.L, Sheikh Jabor Bin Mansour Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al Thani (JMJ) Holding, Tabeeb Care Medical Services, and Al Rawnaq International Commercial Projects represents a pivotal step in reinforcing bilateral relations between the two nations, particularly in the realm of human resource development.

Moreover, the Pakistani delegation engaged in substantive discussions with Mr. Hamad Saleh Al Qamra, Chairman of Al Qamra Holding, with a focus on recruiting Pakistani manpower for various projects undertaken by the company. Additionally, the delegation visited the View Hospital, a division of Elegancia Health Care, where the recruitment of Pakistani healthcare professionals is underway following a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Elegancia Health Care and the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) of Pakistan.

The overarching objective of these endeavors is to create expanded avenues for employment for Pakistani workers in Qatar. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Malik underscored Pakistan’s potential as a significant exporter of manpower and elucidated the government’s endeavors to streamline this process through the engagement of quality recruitment agencies, fostering skill development, and addressing the needs of foreign employers.

CEOs of Qatari companies expressed contentment with the performance of Pakistani workers and affirmed their commitment to augmenting the Pakistani manpower in their respective companies, while adhering to Qatar’s governmental regulations. Additionally, discussions highlighted the escalating demand for skilled labor across various sectors such as services, maintenance, hospitality, and construction, attributable to Qatar’s substantial infrastructural development initiatives.

These agreements and deliberations mark a notable stride towards augmenting the presence of Pakistani workers in Qatar, thereby paving the way for mutual economic growth and fortifying bilateral ties.
