NA body orders restoration of terminated, retired PIA employees

The restoration of the PIA employees who had been fired due to allegations that they held false degrees has been ordered by the National Assembly’s (NA) special committee for affected government employees.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees who had been fired for allegedly holding fake degrees were ordered to be restored by the NA’s special committee for impacted employees.

Also, the NA body ordered the restoration of PIA workers who retired under the Voluntary Separation Plan (VSS).

PIA starts paying retiring employees under VSS

The committee gave instructions for restoring the affected employees’ previous personal numbers and seniority.

The funds received through the early retirement programme must be returned by the employees who retired under the VSS.

Also, the body mandated that 2,600 Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority temporary and contract workers be regularised (PCAA). The committee asked appropriate authorities to remove ‘fake degree’ accusations against the PIA staffers.
