14-Year-Old Malaika Khilji Makes History as First Woman from Balochistan to Summit Khosar Gang Peak
In a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s mountaineering community, 14-year-old student Malaika Khilji has become the first female climber from Balochistan to successfully summit Khosar Gang Peak (6,040 meters).
The expedition, held as part of the Women’s Expedition 2026 under the auspices of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, marks a major milestone for female adventure sports and youth empowerment in the country.
A Youthful Triumph in High-Altitude Climbing
As the youngest participant in the all-women expedition, Malaika demonstrated remarkable resilience, physical endurance, and determination throughout the treacherous ascent. Upon reaching the summit, she proudly unfurled the national flag of Pakistan—a symbol of patriotism and youth perseverance.
