As the summer season approaches, residents of Lahore have witnessed a notable drop in the prices of solar panels, providing a welcome relief to those seeking to harness solar energy.

Recent reports have indicated a significant decrease in the cost of solar systems ranging from 7 to 15 kilowatts, marking a substantial shift in market dynamics. Media sources reveal reductions ranging from Rs100,000 to a substantial Rs200,000 across various system sizes.

For instance, the price of a 7-kilowatt system has seen a Rs100,000 reduction, now priced at Rs825,000. Similarly, a 10-kilowatt system is available at Rs1.125 million after a significant decrease. Moreover, the cost of a 12-kilowatt system has been marked down to Rs1.4 million, and a 15-kilowatt system is now priced at Rs1.6 million, both experiencing a noteworthy Rs200,000 reduction in their price tags.

This notable decline in solar panel prices stands in contrast to the previous month’s scenario when prices surged due to escalating demand. Last month, consumers faced higher costs, with a 7-kilowatt system exceeding Rs920,000, a 10-kilowatt system priced at Rs1.25 million, a 12-kilowatt system reaching Rs1.6 million, and a 15-kilowatt system standing at Rs1.8 million.

The recent drop in prices not only brings relief to consumers but also highlights the increasing affordability and accessibility of solar energy solutions in Lahore. With sustainable energy sources becoming increasingly crucial in combating climate change and addressing energy needs, the decreased cost of solar panels is expected to encourage more residents to adopt clean energy alternatives.
