The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement
At the absolute operational center of the conversation was the landmark defense pact signed in Makkah by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The agreement is founded on the principle of collective deterrence, establishing that an armed attack against any one of the signatory nations will be considered an attack against all three. Foreign Minister Dar recently clarified that the pact is purely defensive in nature, does not target any specific country, and remains open to other regional nations willing to uphold its core principles.

Bilateral Relations and Regional Security
Beyond congratulatory remarks, the two foreign ministers utilized the call to conduct a comprehensive review of the current regional security landscape. According to the Foreign Office, their discussions covered heightened regional tensions and the ongoing situation in occupied East Jerusalem. The diplomatic exchange highlights a shared commitment to addressing multifarious peace and security challenges through coordinated dialogue.

Investment and Continued Engagement
In addition to defense and regional politics, Dar and Al-Sabah focused on strengthening Pakistan-Kuwait bilateral relations. The conversation served as a direct follow-up to the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister’s recent visit to Islamabad. Both dignitaries reaffirmed their mutual interest in deepening economic ties, agreeing to remain closely engaged to facilitate further cooperation and accelerate direct foreign investment into key sectors of the Pakistani economy.
