The country’s internet services would stay stopped, according to Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah’s statement on Friday, until the perpetrators of the house fires and other property destruction are apprehended.

The interior minister told a news outlet, “Many of these vandals have been recognized, and their arrests might take some time. Until then, the internet services will stay shut down.

Many people who used these services legitimately and suffered losses, as a result, are the ones we must watch out for, according to Sanaullah.

He claimed that the protesters who damaged the structures communicated with one another on social media.

Sanaullah declared, “Their entire operation, including the abuse and planning, is done online. It’s all done on social media.

He also made a suggestion that Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), will be detained after May 17, when his bail in the proceedings filed against him for the violent protests that followed his May 9 detention expired.

Khan received double relief when the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted him two weeks of protected bail in the Al-Qadir Trust case and prohibited the relevant authorities from detaining him until Wednesday (May 17) in any subsequent case filed after May 9.

After the PTI chairman threatened to cause nationwide unrest if he was detained again, the IHC granted him protective bail in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Sanaullah commented on the IHC’s choice, telling News that if the court grants Khan protective bail, Khan won’t be detained at all.

Khan won’t be detained until May 17, according to him, and the senior police have been instructed to follow the advocate general’s directives.

Sanaullah told News, “If there is a reason for his arrest, then he will be arrested.”

The PTI’s actions during the past two to three days, according to the interior minister, are untenable. Sanaullah added, “The courts can help them, but we will take action against their anti-state and terrorist activities in accordance with the law.”

Sanaullah claimed that all that has occurred so far is “unprecedented” in reference to the Supreme Court’s decision to free Khan and declare his arrest to be unlawful. He asserted that everyone should benefit from the facilitation being given to this “ladla (blue-eyed boy)”.

“There is no example of such judicial decisions, and means of facilitation are being invented,” claimed the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).

Sanaullah said when asked if Khan will be detained for his party’s involvement in the destruction of a significant Lahore installation: “We have all the evidence from every single day, we have his speeches. There have been and will continue to be cases filed.

He claimed that the cabinet had denounced his words from yesterday in front of the Supreme Court and how he had been welcomed despite embezzling a sizable sum of money.

In response to the nationwide internet service outage, the minister stated that if the issue persists, the government will consult with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The miscreants who set fire to people’s homes will need to be apprehended for a while, therefore it’s probable that internet connections will be interrupted during that period.

He added that there haven’t been any discussions regarding outlawing the PTI.
