In a first, a free bus service launched for women in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan

The first area in Pakistan to offer free bus service for women is Gilgit-Baltistan, which will also increase their safety.

The “Pink Bus Service” project, which would initially be offered in Gilgit and Skardu districts, was launched by the Chief Minister of GB Khalid Khurshid.

To begin the effort, the government repaired three buses already on hand, and it has promised to expand it by purchasing more buses by March 2023.

On 4 major routes, the Pink Bus Service will run twice a day. The hours of operation are 6:00 am to 9:00 am and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The project intends to increase access and lessen the financial strain on the female population.
