The National Innovation Award was established by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) as a component of the Prime Minister Youth Program.
The prize aims to give Pakistani youth financial assistance so they can develop their ideas into viable businesses. The program aims to support young people’s creativity and entrepreneurship while raising Pakistan’s standing on the Global Innovation Index (GII).
A startup may receive up to PKR 2 million in investment, which will be distributed in two payments.
All Pakistani youth between the ages of 15 and 30 are eligible for the program, including residents of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK)
Through the PM Youth Program website or mobile app, candidates can submit their applications for the National Innovation Award. The final deadline for submitting unique ideas is January 30, 2023.
The program is open to ideas in the following areas:
- Food security
- Water management and sustainability
- Sustainable energy
- Urban planning
- Information technology and telecom
- Sociology and Philosophy
- Medical and health sciences
- Any other field
