HEC Announces Undergraduate Scholarships for Students from Gilgit Baltistan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has granted undergraduate scholarships for students from Gilgit Baltistan to attend renowned Pakistani universities. According to HEC official sources, students who intend to pursue undergraduate courses (four/five year BS programs) at HEC-recognized public sector universities are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

The scholarships are being awarded for the academic year 2024-25 in all fields of study under the project titled “Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Gilgit Baltistan Students in Top Pakistani Institutions (Batch-IV)”.

Applications can be submitted no later than September 30, 2024. Eligible applicants can apply through the HEC site. Applications in hardcopy form will not be accepted. Candidates are required to apply through https://eportal.hec.gov.pk.  The application processing fee must be submitted to the HEC account.

The HEC Gilgit Baltistan Undergraduate Scholarship covers tuition, housing fees, and other expenditures up to a maximum of Rs 240,000 per year, as well as a stipend of Rs 15,000 per month, books, and a Rs 30,000 annual travel allowance.

According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must hold a Gilgit-Baltistan domicile certificate. Applicants must have completed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate. Priority will be given to students who finished their SSC/HSSC in Gilgit-Baltistan.
