Free Hotel Registration Announced for Swat to Boost Tourism

In a move aimed at bolstering the tourism sector in Swat Valley, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) has announced that hotels in the region can now be registered free of charge. This initiative is expected to support local hoteliers and attract more visitors to the picturesque valley.

KPCTA’s Initiative

The announcement was made by KPCTA Director General Tashfeen Haider during his recent visit to Swat Valley. Haider met with local hoteliers and outlined the new policy, which allows hotel owners to register their establishments with the KPCTA’s Tourist Services Wing (TSW) without incurring any registration fees.

Haider emphasized that the move is part of a broader strategy to enhance the region’s tourism infrastructure and make Swat a more attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists. By removing the financial barrier to registration, the KPCTA aims to encourage more local businesses to join the formal tourism sector and improve the overall visitor experience.

Encouraging High Standards

During his visit, Haider urged hotel and restaurant owners to maintain high standards of service, including offering quality food and ensuring cleanliness. He expressed hope that by upholding these standards, local businesses would create a positive impression on tourists, which in turn would help to boost the region’s appeal as a travel destination.

The KPCTA delegation, including Administration and Finance Director Muhammad Ali and other senior tourism officials, also conducted inspections of various hotels and tourist information centers in Swat. Their aim was to assess the current state of amenities provided to visitors and identify areas for improvement.

New Developments in Swat

As part of their visit, KPCTA officials inspected a newly constructed building in Fizagat, which will soon house several key facilities. The building is set to accommodate a tourist information center, TSW offices, training facilities, and a Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. These developments are expected to further support the growth of tourism in Swat by providing essential services and training for industry professionals.

Looking Ahead

The free hotel registration policy is seen as a significant step towards revitalizing Swat’s tourism sector, which has faced challenges in recent years. By facilitating the registration process and encouraging high standards of service, the KPCTA aims to create a more welcoming environment for tourists and stimulate economic growth in the region.

This initiative reflects the KPCTA’s commitment to enhancing the tourism infrastructure in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and showcases the government’s efforts to leverage the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Swat Valley to attract more visitors.

With these new measures in place, Swat is poised to capitalize on its potential as a premier tourist destination, offering visitors a memorable experience while supporting the local economy.
