Federal govt increased stipend of Ehsaas Kafalat to Rs.13,000

From February 1, the government increased the Ehsaas Kafalat Stipend from 12 thousand to 13 thousand, announced SAPM Dr. Sania Nishtar.

Senator and Special Assistant of the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar said in a Video Message.

She also announced Strict Action for Agents with Illegal Deductions in Ehsaas Kafalat Stipend to the poor segment of Pakistan.

Moreover, Senator and Special Assistant of the PM of Pakistan on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar said:

“Now, whenever the women that are eligible for the Ehsaas Kafalat Program go to collect their money, count it and take Rs 13,000.”

Further, Senator and SAPM of Pakistan on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar said:

“The government will crack down on those who cut back on the money given to poor under the Ehsaas Kafalat.”

According to the government, 8 million deserving families will get benefitted from the stipend raise. The federal government will give financial assistance of Rs13,000 twice a year.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar said that the federal government will bear additional expenses of Rs 12 billion to Rs 14 billion each year.

Earlier in December last year, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had approved a $603 million loan to help strengthen and expand the government’s ambitious Ehsaas social protection program.

ADB said:

“Under the Integrated Social Protection Development Program, We will provide a loan of $600 million and a $3 million grant from the Asian Development Fund, and will administer a $24 million grant from the Education Above All Foundation.”
