Emirates resumes flights to and from major cities in Pakistan

  • After a temporary suspension, UAE airline Emirates has resumed services to Pakistan’s three major cities namely Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
  • This was basically as a result of 30 Pakistanis travelling to Hong Kong via Emirates, having tested positive for Covid-19.  Of these 30, some had symptoms of fever and cough while others were asymptomatic.
  • . A hygiene kit containing a mask, gloves and sanitizer shall be provided on board. The airline hence is trying its best to avoid any kind of contact both with and amongst the passengers.

After a temporary suspension, UAE airline Emirates has resumed services to Pakistan’s three major cities namely Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. However, passengers shall only be allowed on board if they carry along a not more than 96-hour old negative Covid-19 report, from an approved laboratory. They shall be allowed to and from travels, only if they meet the requirements of their destination, as quoted by an Emirates spokesperson.

From June 24, Emirates had temporarily suspended passenger services from Pakistan up to the 3rd of July. This was basically as a result of 30 Pakistanis travelling to Hong Kong via Emirates, having tested positive for Covid-19.  Of these 30, some had symptoms of fever and cough while others were asymptomatic. The reports now required to be on board must be conducted at the Emirates authorized Health Center, at the passenger’s own expense.

Any passenger having a connecting flight in Dubai shall have to wear a face mask all through the airport. He shall also be required to pass through a fever detection scanner before any further entrances within. A hygiene kit containing a mask, gloves and sanitizer shall be provided on board. The airline hence is trying its best to avoid any kind of contact both with and amongst the passengers
