Girls Take the Lead: FBISE Intermediate Results Celebrate Outstanding Academic Achievement

Pakistan's education sector is celebrating as girls dominated the top positions in this year's Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) examination results. Female students secured 11 out of 15 top positions across all five academic groups, marking a strong showing for young women in this year's intermediate exams. Overall Results at a Glance

The FBISE announced results for the 2026 annual examination on Wednesday. The pass percentage for Class 12, officially known as HSSC-II, was 85.95%. For Class 11, or HSSC-I, the pass percentage was 65.31%.

A total of 106,508 students registered for the HSSC-I examination, with 67,848 passing. For the HSSC-II examination, 104,838 students registered, and 87,364 passed. These figures show the significant scale of participation in this year's intermediate board examinations.

The results were announced during a ceremony at the FBISE building in Islamabad. Education Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui participated in the formal declaration, symbolically pressing the enter key on a laptop to officially open the results for public viewing. FBISE Chairman Dr. Ikram Ali Malik provided a detailed briefing on this year's results. Outstanding Performances in the Pre-Medical Group

In the Pre-Medical Group, Ammara Azhar of Army Public School and Colleges (Girls) in Rawalpindi secured the top position with 1,079 marks. Muhammad Jahanzaib of Punjab College of Science in Islamabad came second, trailing by just one mark. Syeda Iman Fatima of Army Public School and College, Gujranwala Cantonment, was third with 1,076 marks.

Girls Sweep the Pre-Engineering and Commerce Groups

Girls secured all three top positions in both the Pre-Engineering and Commerce groups. In Pre-Engineering, Rameen Arjmand of Army Public School and College Girls in Rawalpindi Cantonment claimed first position with 1,075 marks. Zainab Samee of Army Public School and College, Gujranwala Cantonment, secured second place with 1,070 marks, while Ansa Fatima of KIPS College, Wah Cantt, took third with 1,068 marks.

In the Commerce Group, students from HCCS Educational System Rawalpindi claimed the top two spots. Aqsa Farooq secured first position with 1,051 marks, while Aayeza Afzal followed closely in second place with 1,047 marks. Amna Asif of Punjab College Jinnah Campus, Islamabad, completed the top three with 1,046 marks.

Strong Results in General Science and Humanities

In the General Science Group, Abdullah Azhar of Punjab College of Science, Islamabad, secured first position with 1,063 marks. Hayan Azhar of Defence Forces Public School and College, Rawalpindi Cantonment, was second with 1,059 marks. Hadia Zakria of Punjab College Campus, Hill House, Islamabad, took third with 1,056 marks.

In the Humanities Group, Emaan Fatima of Army Public Degree College, Malir Cantt, Karachi, secured first position with 1,007 marks. Aamna Azhar of Islamabad Model College for Girls followed in second place with 1,003 marks. The third position was shared between Raja Yahya Bin Fazil of Islamabad Model College for Boys and Umair Raza of FG Degree College, Lahore Cantt, both scoring 1,002 marks.

Education Minister Siddiqui congratulated all successful students and wished them well for their future pursuits. He highlighted the strong performance of girls, describing their dominance as a "good sign" for the country's future.
