Internet infrastructure provider Cloudflare issued an apology following a major outage on Friday morning, impacting key platforms including LinkedIn, Zoom, Canva, and Shopify. The disruption, lasting approximately 25 minutes, affected around 28% of Cloudflare’s global HTTP traffic. Cloudflare traced the issue to a firewall configuration change made to address a recently disclosed software vulnerability, emphasizing that no cyberattack occurred.
This outage marks Cloudflare’s second significant disruption in under a month, following a similar incident on November 18, 2025. During the event, the FL1 version of Cloudflare’s proxy, under specific circumstances, triggered an error state leading to widespread 500 HTTP error codes.
The company highlighted the incident as a reminder of the internet’s dependence on a few centralized providers for critical operations. Cloudflare pledged to investigate further and implement measures to prevent similar disruptions in the future, acknowledging the disappointment caused to customers and global users alike.
