Citizen Portal: PM directs to reopen quarter million complaints

Citizen Portal: PM directs to reopen quarter million complaints

PM Imran Khan has directed to reopen over 238,000 complaints out of the 1.5 million complaints solved on Pakistan Citizen Portal last year.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister Office of Pakistan:

“The Prime Minister has directed to reassign complaints to the officers concerned for review.”

A set of complaints selected to reopen includes the ones with status of resolved. While the citizens have denied the resolution by posting negative feedbacks.

According to the statement of the Prime Minister Office of Pakistan:

“This state of affairs warrants ascertaining as to how a relief is denied if it is granted in actual or otherwise.”

The chief secretary and the Inspector General concerned will oversee the review process at the provincial level. At the federal level, secretaries of ministries concerned will be responsible for the review of complaints on citizen portal.

These complaints are mostly related to municipal services, electricity and gas, communications and education. The officers concerned will submit their reports following review of the complaints.

What is Pakistan Citizen Portal

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP) in 2018. Its purpose is to provide relief to all common man by giving them a voice. Prime Minister launched Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU) to manage this portal.

Further, According to the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU):

“The total number of registered complaints on it crossed the 4.2 million mark at the end of 2021. And 45% citizens expressed their satisfaction over the performance of the portal.”

Moreover, According to the PMDU, they have witnessed a record increase in registered members on the portal.

The Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit also released the date of citizen portal showing that:

“4.4 million complaints were filed with the portal, of which 4.2 million were from within the country and 215,000 lodged by overseas Pakistanis Moreover, the number of registered individuals from Punjab is 2.2 million, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 600,000 and Sindh, 500,000. As many as 51,000 people have registered from Balochistan and 77,000 from Islamabad Capital Territory, the data revealed.”
