PESHAWAR: City Mayor Haji Zubair Ali has announced that a BRT service would be launched on Ring Road from Hayatabad to Warsak Road to give commuters with improved transportation facilities.
He was addressed during a meeting on Sunday with TransPeshawar CEO Fayyaz Khan and K-P Urban Mobility Authority Director Finance Aamir Shaukat Ali, which was also attended by Chairman of Tehsil Pishtakhara Haroon Siffat, Director Finance of Metropolitan Government Peshawar Shaukat Ali Khan, and others.
The city mayor stated that preparation for the launch of the shuttle transportation service would begin shortly to give the finest transportation options for the citizens. Additionally, he stated that preparations were being done to operate more BRT buses on various feeder routes.
During the meeting, the CEO of TransPeshawar informed the City Mayor about BRT service, routes, manpower, the purchase of new buses, transportation amenities, vehicle maintenance, security, cleanliness, and the allotment of special seats for women and transgender on BRT buses.
The mayor welcomed the allocation of separate seats for women and transgender people on BRT buses and demanded that women and transgender people be provided with better facilities.
