Riyadh – November 20, 2025: Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem delivered a stunning performance to clinch the gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 in Riyadh, successfully defending his previous title and cementing his reputation as a national hero.
The javelin throw final, held at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, featured seven competitors, including fellow Pakistani Yasir Sultan, who earned a silver medal. The event quickly became a highlight of the games, showcasing top-tier athletic talent from across Muslim-majority nations.
Arshad, fresh from his Olympic gold triumph, displayed exceptional skill and consistency under pressure. On his second attempt out of six, he achieved a winning throw of 83.05 meters, securing the top spot and demonstrating remarkable precision and composure.
Yasir Sultan, who previously won bronze at the 2023 Asian Championships, complemented Arshad’s victory, ensuring a historic one-two finish for Pakistan in the men’s javelin event. Another Pakistani athlete, Salman Iqbal Butt, also participated but could not reach the podium in the highly competitive final.
