Apple is gearing up to enter the foldable smartphone market with the imminent release of its first foldable device, likely named the iPhone Fold. This marks a significant step for the company, which has reportedly been developing the device for over five years.

Key Features of the iPhone Fold

The iPhone Fold is expected to stand out with a dual-camera system on the rear, featuring two 48MP sensors—wide and ultra-wide—to deliver high-quality photography. On the front, an 18MP camera with Center Stage technology will enhance video call experiences by keeping users centered in the frame.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by Apple’s next-generation A20 chip, built on a 3nm process, promising advanced performance and efficiency.

Design and Display

The foldable iPhone will sport a 7.8-inch inner OLED display designed to reduce creasing, adopting a book-style fold. Its shape is expected to be more rectangular and wallet-like compared to other foldable smartphones, aiming for a sleek and practical design.

Additional Features

  • Touch ID is anticipated to make a return, integrated into the power button for ease of access.
  • The battery capacity is estimated at around 4,700 mAh, supporting extended usage.
  • MagSafe technology will likely be included, enabling wireless charging compatibility.

With these features, the iPhone Fold aims to carve its own niche in the foldable smartphone market, leveraging Apple’s ecosystem and brand strength to offer a fresh alternative alongside established competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series.
