Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally interviewed four candidates for the position, highlighting the importance of the role. Alongside Ambreen Jan, other notable contenders included Sayyed Mubashar Tauqir Shah, Arshad Munir, and Shamoon Hashmi. The rigorous selection process underscores the government’s commitment to appointing a highly qualified and capable leader to the ministry.

As the new Secretary of Information and Broadcasting, Ambreen Jan will be responsible for overseeing the ministry’s various departments and initiatives. Her role will involve coordinating government communication strategies, managing public relations, and ensuring effective dissemination of information to the public. Given her extensive background in external publicity, she is expected to enhance the ministry’s outreach and engagement efforts, both domestically and internationally.

Challenges Ahead

Ambreen Jan steps into her new role at a time when the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting faces several challenges. These include navigating the rapidly evolving media landscape, addressing misinformation and fake news, and leveraging new technologies for effective communication.
