On Tuesday, IT ministry and Telecommunication Federal Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput said that due to effective policies of the government Pakistan has witnessed landmark achievements in the ICT sector in recent years.
Speaking at the GSMA Roundtable in Barcelona, Rajput added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan had re-energized its digital transformation journey with the launch of Digital Pakistan, which aimed to enhance connectivity, improve digital infrastructure, increase investment in digital skills, promote innovation and technology entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom highly valued GSMA’s contribution to transforming the digital landscape in Pakistan.
“A strategic plan and roadmap for 5G technology is also being formulated keeping in view the aspects of spectrum management, infrastructure development, telecom regulations and 5G applications/uses,” he pointed out.
