OZ Developers secured the Sialkot franchise for Rs1.85 billion during the auction held on January 8, 2026. Following speculation, Kamil Khan confirmed the name “Sialkot Stallionz” via social media, expressing enthusiasm about joining the PSL journey.
PSL 11 Details and Expanded Venues
The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League is set to begin on March 26, 2026. In addition to existing locations, Faisalabad has been added as a new venue, expanding the league’s reach and bringing top-level cricket back to the city.
Legacy of the Sialkot Stallions
The franchise name pays tribute to the former domestic team, Sialkot Stallions, which holds a distinguished place in Pakistan’s cricket history. Between 2005 and 2012, the team won six National T20 Cup titles and set a world record with a 25-match unbeaten streak, making them the most successful side in Pakistan’s domestic T20 competitions.
Changes in Player Acquisition for PSL 11
The Pakistan Cricket Board has introduced a player auction system for the first time, replacing the previous player draft format. Under the new rules, each franchise can retain up to four players, with a limit of one player per category. Previously, teams could retain up to eight players plus additional options such as a mentor or brand ambassador.
