Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Turkmenistan on a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and accelerating key regional energy and connectivity projects. The visit comes as Pakistan looks to deepen trade, economic cooperation, and strategic partnerships with Central Asian states.

According to official details, the prime minister is scheduled to hold meetings with Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and other senior leadership. The two sides are expected to discuss the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, regional transport links, energy security initiatives, and new opportunities for economic collaboration.

PM Shehbaz’s visit also includes participation in high-level delegation talks focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and cultural exchange. Pakistan views Turkmenistan as a key partner in its vision of enhancing regional connectivity and securing long-term energy solutions.

The two countries are also expected to review progress on joint projects and explore ways to fast-track stalled initiatives. The visit is being described as an important step in advancing Pakistan’s foreign policy goals in Central Asia while reinforcing long-standing diplomatic and economic ties with Turkmenistan.
