Nestlé Pakistan, a subsidiary of Swiss giant Nestlé SA, has elevated its manufacturing operations in Sheikhupura and Khanewal to meet global standards, making both facilities fully automated and integrated with the company’s worldwide systems. The upgrade positions Pakistan’s operations on par with Nestlé’s leading global plants, showcasing its commitment to advanced, technology-driven manufacturing.

A delegation from Nestlé Pakistan, led by CEO Jason Avancena and accompanied by CFO Maqsood Ahmad Anjum and Head of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Sheikh Waqar Ahmad, briefed Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on the company’s progress and future expansion plans. They highlighted ongoing and upcoming investments in sustainability, agricultural services transformation, increased manufacturing capacity, and deployment of advanced technologies across the value chain. Initiatives include solar and biomass energy systems, digital dashboards, eco-friendly packaging, and supply-chain automation, reducing costs and greenhouse-gas emissions.

The delegation also discussed Nestlé Pakistan’s localisation efforts, noting a reduction in import volumes from $150 million to approximately $76–80 million over three years, strengthening the domestic agricultural and manufacturing base and reducing foreign-exchange exposure.

Minister Aurangzeb commended these efforts and reiterated the government’s commitment to formalising the economy, improving tax compliance, and supporting domestic manufacturing. The delegation emphasized Nestlé’s export performance, with strong presence in markets including the US, Canada, the Gulf, and the UK, while exploring logistics partnerships to expand access to Central Asia.

Looking ahead, Nestlé plans to announce further investments in sustainability, automation, and infant and dairy nutrition production at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, with global leadership, including Executive VP Remy Ejel, set to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Finance Ministry confirmed its support to facilitate this engagement, ensuring ongoing alignment between Nestlé and the government on policy options to strengthen Pakistan’s domestic industry and global market positioning.
