The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shortlisted six cities as potential homes for two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) teams, marking a major step in the league’s planned expansion. The cities under consideration are Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot.

This decision comes after the completion of valuation reports for the two new franchises, the PCB said. The process to award ownership rights will begin soon through formal tenders.

In addition to this expansion, the PCB confirmed that an independent valuation of its existing franchises and other commercial assets has been completed. All compliant franchise owners have been sent renewal offers reflecting revised fees for the next ten years.

To ensure transparency, the PCB has organized both group and individual meetings between franchise representatives and the independent valuers (EY MENA), allowing for a review of valuation methodology and direct dialogue.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer had earlier indicated that the expansion would come with new venues. According to him, Faisalabad is a strong candidate to host matches, aligning with the six-city shortlist.
