The government of Pakistan is preparing for a massive vaccination push as it partners with the World Health Organization (WHO) to train 140,000 frontline health workers. This training initiative is designed to ensure the upcoming campaign runs smoothly and reaches all target populations across the country.
Under the plan, teams of doctors, nurses, and community‑health workers will undergo specialized training in vaccination best practices, cold‑chain management, data recording, and safe field operations. The training is expected to strengthen the capacity of the immunization program and raise the chances of achieving full coverage.
Officials said the campaign will focus especially on areas where children and other vulnerable groups have missed routine immunizations. By equipping a large workforce with updated skills, the government hopes to boost confidence in health services and reduce the number of unvaccinated individuals.
Beyond just numbers, the training underscores the importance of quality, monitoring, and community engagement in vaccination efforts. With health authorities stressing that vaccines save lives, this program is a key part of Pakistan’s strategy to improve public health outcomes and advance immunization coverage nationwide.
