MANAMA: Pakistan are assured of another medal at the Asian Youth Games 2025 after the boys volleyball team outclassed Indonesia 3-1 to book their place in the finals at the Isa Sports City in Bahrain.
The thrilling semi-final match saw Indonesia take an early lead by winning the first set 25-22. However, Pakistan bounced back in dominant fashion, claiming the next two sets 25-13 and 25-19. In a closely fought fourth set, the Green Shirts held their nerve to secure a 26-24 victory, sealing the match 3-1.
With this win, Pakistan remain undefeated throughout the tournament, showcasing remarkable teamwork and consistency. The Green Shirts will now face Iran in the final on Thursday at 7 pm local time (8 pm PKT) in what promises to be a high-stakes showdown.
Earlier in the competition, Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals after a commanding straight-sets win over China (25-12, 25-13, 25-17) in the quarter-finals. Their campaign began with an impressive straight-sets victory against Mongolia, followed by a 3-0 win over hosts Bahrain in the Group ‘A’ match. They later defeated Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to top their group and maintain their perfect record.
Players Khizar Hayat, Mohammad Yahya, and Mohammad Anas have been among the standout performers, earning praise for their consistent play and strong attacking presence.
With their eyes now set on the gold medal, Pakistan’s volleyball team has already made the nation proud, reaffirming their rising stature in youth-level volleyball across Asia.
