The Asia Cup 2025 trophy is expected to be officially handed over to India in the first week of November, with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) proposing November 10 as the date for the ceremony, according to reliable sources.
Sources within the ACC confirmed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been informed of the plan, and the formal presentation is likely to take place at the ACC headquarters.
BCCI–ACC Correspondence
The development follows correspondence between the two bodies, with the ACC responding to a letter sent by the Indian board. Earlier, the BCCI had written to ACC President Mohsin Naqvi regarding the pending handover of the trophy.
In its reply, the ACC reiterated that it never refused to hand over the trophy to India and maintained its earlier position that the Indian representatives should visit the ACC office to receive it officially.
“The ACC has invited the Indian board to come on November 10 for the official handover,” a source confirmed.
Background
After the Asia Cup 2025 final, the Indian team had reportedly declined to collect the trophy directly from ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, citing scheduling and logistical issues at the time.
The latest exchange indicates that the issue has now been amicably resolved, and both sides are expected to finalize the formalities for the trophy presentation soon.
