Sahibzada Farhan Eyes Comeback to National Squad

Lahore – April 21, 2025:
With consistent performances in domestic and franchise cricket, Sahibzada Farhan has set his sights on making a return to the Pakistan national cricket team. The 28-year-old opener, who last represented Pakistan in T20Is, has been in impressive form over the past season, reigniting hopes of an international comeback.

Farhan, known for his aggressive stroke play and solid technique, was a standout performer in the recent Pakistan Cup and National T20 Cup, where he not only accumulated significant runs but also impressed selectors with his temperament and adaptability. His performances have not gone unnoticed, as he continues to push his case for selection, especially ahead of Pakistan’s upcoming international assignments.

In a recent interview, Farhan said:

“I’ve worked hard on my game, particularly my fitness and power-hitting. I believe I’ve matured as a player and am ready to contribute to the national side whenever given the opportunity.”

Farhan made his T20I debut for Pakistan in 2018 but has since struggled to cement a permanent spot in the team. However, his consistent performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and domestic circuit have kept him in the selectors’ considerations. His recent stint in the PSL 2025 season saw him average over 40 with multiple match-winning knocks, further highlighting his resurgence.

With the T20 World Cup and several key tours approaching, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to explore in-form options to bolster the squad. Farhan’s form, coupled with his improved fitness levels and experience, makes him a strong contender for a spot, particularly in the shorter formats of the game.

Cricket analysts believe that Farhan’s return could provide depth and competition in Pakistan’s top order, especially with ongoing concerns about batting consistency and strike rotation in the T20 setup.
