In a historic moment for Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket, Karachi Kings’ star fast bowler Hasan Ali etched his name in the record books by becoming the highest wicket-taker in PSL history, surpassing veteran pacer Wahab Riaz.

The milestone came during a thrilling clash between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators at the National Stadium in Karachi on Friday. Batting first, Karachi Kings posted a strong total of 175 for 7. In response, Quetta Gladiators faltered under pressure, ending their innings at 119 for 9, handing Karachi a dominant 56-run victory.

Hasan Ali was the standout performer, taking three crucial wickets in his four-over spell, which not only helped secure the win but also elevated him past Wahab Riaz’s long-standing record of 113 wickets in 87 innings. With this performance, Hasan Ali now stands at 116 wickets in 84 innings, a remarkable feat reflecting both consistency and brilliance over multiple PSL seasons.

The record-breaking wicket came when Hasan Ali dismissed Hassan Nawaz for just one run, triggering a celebration among teammates and fans alike. Ali has been in phenomenal form this season, grabbing 8 wickets in just 3 matches, showing why he remains one of the most feared bowlers in the T20 circuit.

Speaking after the match, Hasan Ali expressed gratitude to his team, coaches, and fans.

“It’s a special feeling to set a new record in PSL, and it’s all possible because of the support of my team and the fans,” said Ali.

The victory also boosted Karachi Kings up the PSL 10 points table, placing them third with 4 points from 3 matches. As the tournament heats up, the Kings are gaining momentum, and Hasan Ali’s form could be the key to their playoff ambitions.

This achievement adds another proud chapter to Hasan Ali’s already impressive cricketing journey, solidifying his legacy as one of Pakistan’s top T20 bowlers.
